This website, thebitcoinradar.com (the “Site”), is operated by Digital Resources Group LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Site handles and how. The short version: we collect as little as we can get away with, we run analytics that do not use cookies or track you across the web, and the only personal data we ever hold is the email address you give us if you subscribe to the newsletter.
Information we collect
Information you provide. If you subscribe to The Bitcoin Radar newsletter, you provide an email address. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through Substack, which processes that address as described in its own privacy policy. We do not sell, rent or share subscriber emails with anyone.
If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you choose to send, and we use it only to respond.
Information collected automatically. The Site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count visits and understand which pages are read. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across other websites. It records aggregated, anonymized information such as page views, referrer, browser type, device type and country. IP addresses are not stored.
Our hosting provider and content delivery network may keep standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operational purposes, retained for a limited period under their own policies.
What we do not do
We do not run advertising trackers. We do not use social media pixels. We do not sell or share any visitor data with data brokers or advertisers. We do not profile visitors. The Site can be read in full without creating an account or providing any personal information.
Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links, always disclosed, as described in our Disclosure. If you click one, the destination site may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
Third-party services
The Site relies on a small set of service providers to operate: web hosting, a content delivery network, Umami analytics, and Substack for the newsletter. Each processes only the data necessary for its function. Links to third-party websites throughout the Site lead to services with their own privacy practices; we are not responsible for them.
Legal bases and your rights
Where data protection law applies (such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), our processing rests on legitimate interest (operating and securing the Site, aggregate analytics) and consent (the newsletter, which you may leave at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email).
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Since the only personal data we hold is a newsletter email address, the fastest route is usually the unsubscribe link; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Data security and retention
Newsletter data lives with Substack under its security practices. We retain subscriber emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Aggregated analytics contain no personal data and may be retained indefinitely.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest revision; material changes will be noted on this page.
